Rain, rain go away
I really am not keen on walking in the rain. Especially when accompanied by a howling gale. We drove to Chapel House wood near Newby Bridge so there was some respite but I don't like my ears blown around very much. Friend Pika came too & we dried off in front of his open fire (and I chewed his bone). No pics it was too wet for mistress to even think about taking a camera.

i wonder if..
....... I can post from the mistresses Kindle? Photos may be a problem but hey I can write!
A lie in tomorrow. Yeah. Young master will take me out with the ball in the morning. Mistress has walked me 2.5 miles the last 3 mornings before work, in the dark, at a pace. This morning I registered my protest by repeatedly sitting down. Didn't work. I was unceremoniously dragged along. I'm sure she's on a mission to get herself fit / lose weight. Hope the master can start walking me more soon if his foot gets better. I think mistress is secretly hoping so too! Night. Night.

Try again
2014 was a year I said hello to new friends & goodbye to old ones. That's life.
Mistresses good friend - the one at Witherslack with the good woodland walks close by - said hello to Kruger her Mums old dog who she could no longer look after. He was a lovely old boy, sadly didn't have long for this world but a loving home to end his days. Couldn't ask for any more than that.
Mistress has seriously messed up & lost pictures of him!
However he was a relative of Pika who now resides at Witherslack. Pika is a retired stud dog & mistress says he is such a gentleman. Whatever one of those is?

We said goodbye to young mistresses dog Simba. She stayed with me sometimes. Mistress stayed with her at the vets & held her paw. Seems she's lost those photos too. Really.
RIP Simba.
Master is currently unable to walk me due to having had an operation so mistress takes me out before she goes to work & again when she comes home. We haven't told her master takes me out with the ball in the afternoon!!
Young master is now at college, wants to work with electric or something but mistress thinks he may join the army. He did scrub up well for his school prom though.
Well I'm going to try & get back on track with this blog m'larkey. Mistress has a new camera lens & a bag to carry it all in so as long as it stops raining soon there will be more pics.
This was taken last Sunday.

Update
Having problems with blogger so I may just have to start again elsewhere. Infuriating to keep losing pictures & posts & then errors popping up all over the place! Especially as I have a new companion to walk with at weekends.

Grizedale Forest
First time in ages that mistress has let me near the computer. We have been walking but haven't had the camera.
Today though we went to Grizedale Forest to drop young master off for his practise expedition for the Duke of Edinburgh bronze award & mistress decided we should go off for a walk of our own. Flask & sandwiches packed we set off. Now mistress did have a map but decided we'd go up Carron Crag which was way marked from the Visitor Centre. Red post marks. So why did she start following the green ones after we left the summit? We walked much further than she had planned but I didn't mind apart from having to follow the road for a little way.
Mistress didn't refer to the map once I think she said she knew the area quite well from her teenage years. I think she's forgotten some bits.
There are lots of wood sculptures & things in Grizedale Forest some are a bit strange.
I did share her disappointment that the pub in Satterthwaite village wasn't open when we went past, I could have helped drink her pint! Had we waited 10 minutes it would have been open!
We had our sandwiches back at the car where upon I decided to jump in & out of the car until the dog guard fell down. Then I knocked my water bowl over. I like to keep moving!
We drove back through the Rusland valley for mistress to reminisce back to her youth. She spotted a for sale sign pointing up the road to Crosslands Farm where she stayed with her Mum & Dad in their caravan several times a year. We never saw the house for sale but mistress spent 15 minutes chatting to the man who used to own the farm & talking about old times. How on earth did she know who he was? He didn't remember her but did remember her parents!

Banks Pond
Today was a lovely sunny, but cold day. Master and mistress took me up to Banks Pond at Old Hutton for a run around. The tarn is a private fishing lake maintained by Kendal & District Angling Club of which they are members. It is quite a way along a farm track which fortunately has been re-surfaced so is easy to get up now whatever the weather.
There is a wood surrounding the tarn which I love to run around, the freedom is great. I have to make sure I don't get too close to the water though I fell in last time!!!
Master took the air gun for target practise but I don't like the whoosh of the air when it fires.

Little to write about
The weather has been awful for walking, we went part way up the Helme this afternoon and couldn't see a thing. The cloud was so low.
Even the photo won't load at the moment there wasn't much to see. I haven't been well since either so no roast dinner for me tonight which is most unfortunate.

Woodland walks
So I've been away for a while, it's been raining very wet rain & not good for picture taking. Before Christmas I went for walks in the woods over at Witherslack with mistress and her friend who lives there. I like going there as I can walk run off lead in many of the woodlands. I always go back and check mistress is still there of course. She keeps telling me I'm a good boy which I know.
Simba came to stay for Christmas Eve and when young mistress got the vacuum out Christmas morning Simba got in the way and young mistress told her off so she went to sulk on a chair!!
I got a big chewy bone as a present but it didn't last long as I have big strong jaws!!Today we went to another wood at Witherslack and it poured down, so we splashed through the puddles. I've got over my dislike of rain if it means fun outside. I just don't like going out in it if it's a routine walk!
When we got home I wanted to help master make the pastry for a steak pie but somwhow it didn't quite work out..................

Through the parkland

Mistress took me to run around some woods today but had to put me on the lead to go through some fancy parkland at Dallam Tower. We saw deer & sheep there.First though we went to see the Fairey Steps near Beetham.

background?
Then we went past the Heron Corn Mill. Now a hydro electric driven paper mill on the River Bela. Can't see what all the fuss was about when they applied for planning, all I could see was a small building on the side!

Big Airplanes
Pictures of "Just Jane" / City of Sheffield Lancaster Bomber.
We went here because they could take me, though why I should want to wander around a draughty hanger & across a damp and soggy airfield I don't know! Young master was suitably impressed though.
Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary
There were more than seals at this place apparently but I wasn't invited. The mistress and young master went though and brought these pictures back. I went for my adventure with the master instead.

Half term holiday
When we arrived at the caravan site, Sunnydale, master took me to explore in the dark!! so next day we all went for a long walk on the dunes. I could run for miles, well if they hadn't kept calling me back I could have done.
Master took me for a long walk one afternoon and I managed to run off twice, once with a dead bird and once with a dead rabbit. Dillon two, master one. Ha!

A Local wander through the woods
Mistress took me and the master for a walk in some woods today. The weather was cold but sunny. Mistress only had her phone camera - AGAIN which means she couldn't get any action shots!
We were up a hill and the views of Kendal and the castle were amazing.

Me and the master having a breather
The sky realy was this blue
If it doesn't rain tomorrow we're going back with a proper camera. Wonder if we'll stop at the pub on the way back again??
Two weeks back
I went for a walk to Natland along the path of the old canal a couple of weeks ago and this was the view back towards town.
No views of the stiles I had to duck and dive around or under!!

Back to normal?
I've been going out and about with a plastic bag over my bandage for a week! Oh really what a state to have been in. However the bandage and the bag are now removed and I chased a ball again this week. I wasn't quite going stir crazy you understand, I was being walked, but I love to chase my ball above all else. I do still have to wear a neoprene & plastic sock for another week or so, just to make sure the cuts are fully healed and no dirt gets in. Last weekend we walked around town, mistress forgot her camera.
This afternoon mistress took me for a walk around the back of the Helme, but then made the mistake of cutting across the far end & she got covered in mud!!! It has been raining lately!
The view towards the wind farm by junction 37 of the M6, not that you can see the turbines in this picture though!

Oh woe is me........
Sunday mistress left me with the master while she went to Ambleside with her friend. Well it was rather wet and I don't like shopping so I didn't mind. She did remember totake a couple of photos though. Stockghyll pretty full from all the rain.
And the Bridge House.
Todays breaking news................... I have a green bandage on my back paw. Mistress had only been away for an hour and she came back to find me trailing rather a lot of blood around the house, and furniture!!! I seem to have two deep cuts between my pads. The mistress is hoping master will be able to shed some light on what happened when he took me out earlier. I'm keeping quiet!
We got soaked going out to the vet as well, I had to have a plastic bag on my foot.
